Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 August 2026
What this covers
These terms apply to Staz's Bot (the Discord bot) and its dashboard at bot.staz.co.za, run by Staz (staz.co.za), based in South Africa. By adding the bot to a server, signing in to the dashboard, or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to these terms.
Free and paid plans
The Free plan is free forever and includes the full moderation toolkit: kick, ban, timeout, clear, warnings with escalation, mod logs, welcome and goodbye messages, auto-role, reminders, one-command server setup, the fun commands and the web dashboard.
Bronze, Silver and Gold are optional paid plans that add extra features. Plans apply per Discord server, not per person: a subscription upgrades the one server it was bought for. You can subscribe to different plans for different servers.
Features move between plans only with notice, and we will not move an existing free feature behind a paywall for servers already using it.
Billing
Paid plans are billed through Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record. Paddle handles the payment, the receipt and any sales tax or VAT, and appears on your statement. Prices are shown in your local currency on the pricing page before you pay.
Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly or annually, whichever you chose — until you cancel. If a payment fails, Paddle retries for a short period; if it keeps failing, the server returns to the Free plan.
If prices change, existing subscriptions keep their price until the change is announced to them, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the server’s page in the dashboard, which opens your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and refunds are honoured within 14 days of a charge. The full detail is on the refund policy page.
Free grants and promotions
We sometimes grant a paid plan at no cost, for example the launch promotion for the first servers to add the bot. Grants are a courtesy: they carry no cash value, cannot be transferred or refunded, and may be time-limited. A granted plan is never reduced by buying a subscription — a server keeps whichever is higher.
Acceptable use
Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times. Don't use the bot to harass people, and don't attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service. Server managers are responsible for how moderation features (warnings, kicks, bans, timeouts) are used in their servers.
Availability
The service is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis. We aim to keep the bot online 24/7 but do not guarantee uptime, and features may change or be removed. We may remove the bot from a server, or suspend dashboard access, if these terms are abused. If we suspend a paid server for abuse, we refund the unused part of the current period.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Staz is not liable for any damages arising from using, or being unable to use, the bot or the dashboard. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Leaving
You can remove the bot from your server at any time by kicking it, and you can stop using the dashboard at any time. Removing the bot does not cancel a subscription — cancel that separately from the dashboard or your billing portal. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
Changes and contact
These terms may change as the service grows; the date below always reflects the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Questions? Get in touch via staz.co.za.
